THE RISK OF PEDESTRIANS GETTING INTO ACCIDENT IN THE DARK
The risk of getting into accident in urban areas during the dark time is twice as high as during daytime. Outside urban areas the risk is even higher!

The risk of getting into an accident in the dark without using reflectors is 6-7 higher compared to when using one.

All studies show that it is equally important to use reflectors also in urban areas.

Persons killed or injured in traffic accidents are almost always without reflectors.

Pedestrian deaths in traffic in Finland during 1986-1990 have been studied and the results show that 20 % of the victims would have been saved when using reflectors.

Different kinds of reflectors complete each other, when they are of good quality.

According to Finnish studies the number of deaths and injuries could be reduced by 25% by increasing the reflector usage from 60% to 80%.
